Ebraheem Abd El
Maksoud’s
early passion for oriental dance and folkloric arts started
since he was a dancer for El-Mehala folkloric band. Then he moved to
several bands across the Egyptian delta, till he joined El
Balloon Theater’s oriental dancing and folkloric band in Cairo,
where he had been professionally fine tuned his skills on the
hands of the pioneers of dancing masters in Egypt such as:
Mahmoud Reda, Kamal Naeem, Essmat Yehya, Mimi Qadous, and many
more of oriental and folklore dancing masters in Egypt.
On 1982, he became the designer and instructor for Kafr El
Shiekh folkloric dance band, and has successfully led them
through many of national and international dance festivals. Mean
while he attained two educational courses at the Public Culture
authority for folkloric and oriental dance, in addition to another nineteen courses (on yearly biases) at the
Leaders’ Preparation Center under the supervision of the
Ministry of Culture, where he encountered another level of fine
skills by his masters like: Hosney Lotfy, El-Gedawy Ramadan,
Hani Abu-Gaafer, Mohamed Khalil, Mamdouh Othman, Medhat Fahmy,
Farida Fahmy, Ekhlas Nour-ElDein, and many more of the finest at
the fields of folkloric customs and musical instruments, motion
expressions, legacy and traditions of the Egyptian life style.
And various specialties and subjects that concerns all about the
Egyptian folkloric and oriental dancing arts.
Now that he has become one of the rare gems makers at the dance
training and designing, he was qualified to help establish,
supervise, design and directing a group of the Egyptian
folkloric and oriental dance bands such as: El Mahala Weavers,
El Gharbia, El Mansoura, The League of Tanta University, The
League of Ministry of High Education, The League of the Egyptian
Ministry of Youth. And managed to accompany them through many of
the national and international dance festivals in France,
Romania, Germany, Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon, Kuwait, Morocco,
Ismailia international, World’s Alexandrias, and Arabian
Universities.
He also has designed and directed various dances for the
Egyptian TV, among them, the month of Ramadan’s shows for five
years in row. Where he had the opportunity to work with some of
the brightest stars of the TV shows in Egypt, like: Samir Sabry,
Dina, Yasmeen Farag, Rania Yousef, Mohamed Abo-ElHassan, Diaa El
Merghany and much more. In addition to the plays he has
participated at as a dancer and a designer for large groups for
the Egyptian private and public sectors alike.
As result for his wide range of experience, and qualities as a
qualified leader for several of the Egyptian youth activities,
and the many courses he achieved (Ministry of Culture: 2 courses
– Ministry of Youth 19 courses). He received more than once, a
fine gesture by being honored from the two Ministries by their
own leaders themselves, for his constant efforts at the fields
of the youth artistic activities and for designing and directing
the 50th anniversary celebrations for the Egyptian Revolution,
which been held at the presence of the President of the
Republic.
His name has been printed several times as the Best Dance
Designer Award Winner at the national competition sponsored by
the Ministry of Culture.
Ebraheem Abd El Maksoud has been the trainer and the instructor
of the Egyptian dance for many dance schools in Belgium, France,
Germany and Switzerland.
Currently, his main efforts are dedicated for
supervising and techniques designing for several Egyptian bands
and work-shops in Egypt, Switzerland, Germany, France and
Belgium. |
